Website Highlights -  Events, events, events,.  

InKy Socials - (8/19/08 - 6:30 p.m - GC1E3MX) Sundaes on a Tuesday.  That's right, ice cream on an  InKy Tuesday.  Join the gang for the annual ice cream social. 

PMS -  (7/24/08 - 6:30 p.m. - GC1DTYH) An "Out of Body Experience" just for the ladies.  Now isn't that something we are do on our own occasionally.  Come join the ladies group to share that experience at the Bristol.  

 

Caching the Falls at Clifty -  (8/2/08 - 10:00 a.m. - GC1DH83) Clifty Falls State Park is hosting a geocaching event.  Yipee!  Caches are being placed at overlooks at all of Clifty's beautiful waterfalls and one at a scenic overlook. 

 

Midwest GeoBash -  (8/7/08 - 6:30 p.m. - GC154HT) Here's your chance to attend a Mega event held in Indiana.  Gas an issue, no problem, once you get to the event, you can hang out for an entire weekend of activities and never get back in your car until it's time to head back home.  Meet caches from all over the United States at this event. 

 

Indiana Fall Picnic -  (9/5-6/08 GC19ZEH and GC1A1XW REGISTRATION IS OPEN!  This year's picnic will be held at Muscatatuck Park in North Vernon.  You won't want to miss a moment.  For detailed picnic information, please go to the IndiGo website.

 

Windy Rock -  (10/10-12/08) Windy Rock is a great opportunity to spend a day or a weekend with cachers from all over the area.  This is a who-is-who event for our area.  Everyone wants to come to Windy Rock.  Put this fantastic event on your calendar now.

 

GeoWoodstock VII - (5/23/09 - GC1CG5G) An event you won't want to missed.  GeoWoodstock is coming to Tennessee.

The 2008 InKy calendar has some opening.  Hosts are needed for November.  A few basic rules make is easy to host an InKy Social.

Cache Rescue Program - The cache rescue program is dedicated to assuring quality caches in the InKy area.  Volunteers will rescue abandoned cache and find an owner to adopt the cache.  To report an abandoned cache or for additional information, click here.

Archiving Imminent - If you are planning to archive a cache in the near future let us know.  InKy will post notification on the website so cachers have the opportunity to hunt the cache prior to archiving.  Emergency archives do not need to be posted.  To post a pending archive, click here.

Who's Who and Who's New!  

Local cachers Interviewed - Resident celebrities Lumberjack Tom, Smee3 and Turtle3863 were recently interviewed.  Check the VOA interview.   

Welcome new cachers - InKy welcomes all new cachers to the area. Please join us at one of our InKy Social Events and get to know other cachers in the area.

PodCasts - PodCasts are basically talk shows about geocaching.  Several Indiana cachers has been interviewed on Cache-a-maniacs and several cachers and Indiana activities have been mentioned on PodCacher.  Both are very well done podcast.  Access their websites by clicking on the buttons to the right and download broadcasts.

Milestones -  Congratulations to Show Me the Cache hits an unbelievable 10,000, Daggy who hit 8,000 in New Orleans, L'il Al grabbed her 5,000 find, Smee3 and Kayak-Cowboy hit 2,000 finds and Tripleader finds his 1,000th cache.

Tools, Schools and Rules!  

Cache Monitoring Program - This program assists the Indiana Admin in insuring caches placed in our area are safe and are rated appropriately.  Local cachers can report issues with an area cache through the InKy web site.  An InKy volunteer will visit the cache and recommend changes to the Indiana Admin.  To report cache issues, click here.

Indiana DNR Policy - Indiana DNR has enacted geocaching policies for caches placed in Indiana State Parks.  To see current policy, click here.  DNR policies have been updated to include Reservoirs.
